Page Content

On this page you'll find a Barcelona metro map that will help you plan you route with the TMB and FGC metro transport system. The map shows both TMB, FGC and TRAM lines in Zone 1 which cover the city centre. TMB lines are L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L9 and FGC metro lines are L6, L7, L8 along with the Tram Lines (T1 to T4). TMB (stands for Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona) FGC (Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat) are different operating companies however, combined they form the Barcelona Metro system.

How to use the route planner map

The black circles on the map indicate hubs on the metro where you can change lines to a different station. To plot your journey simply find your start and end stations then work out if you need to change or not. You can then calculate your journey transit time using our calculation below the map.

How to estimate your metro journey time

As a rule of thumb you can estimate your transit time by counting the number of metro stops on your route and multiplying this number by 2 minutes. Include a waiting time of 5 minutes. If you need to change add an additional 5 minutes to your final value for each change.

e.g. to travel from Liceu (Green Line, L3) to Sagrada Família (Blue Line, L5) there are 5 stops plus one change at Diagonal. Therefore total travel journey time is approximately is:

5 minutes (waiting at Liceu) + 10 minutes (2 minutes x 5 stops) +5 minutes (Change at Diagonal) = Total 20 minutes travel time.
